Dear Birth Mother,
Hello, our names are Andrew and Tiziana (although people call me Tiz). We want to start by saying how much respect and admiration we have for the decision you have made in choosing adoption for your child. It is an extraordinary gift to bring a child into this world. The courage and love in your heart that you have for your child will only carry on in his or her life. We assure you that we want nothing more than to provide a child with love, and a home that a child can grow, and be nourished in.
About Us:
Andrew and I have been together for 15 years and married for 10. From the moment we met I knew that I was going to spend the rest of my life with him. We dated for 4 years and then married and bought our first house all in the same year. We have a love that keeps growing with every passing year, and through every hurdle that life has put in front of us, we only get closer and stronger together.
We had been giving one of the greatest pieces of advice after our failed attempts at infertility. “It is not about the 9 months that you carry a child but about the lifetime that you raise that child” We have been on quite a journey in the past few years with wanting to start a family. After numerous attempts with infertility, we made the decision to adopt our first child 3 ½ years ago, and we welcomed our beautiful son Alexander home.
Andrew and I are both editors in the Entertainment Industry. We both work for companies that do all of the marketing for feature films. We love what we do and our schedules give us flexibility so that one of us will always be home with our children, and we also have the ability to work from home. We have been in our home for almost 5 years now, and our neighborhood is full of children, wonderful tree lined streets, and we are close to many great schools and parks.
We also love the outdoors, and we go on many trips with our boat throughout the summer with family and friends to local rivers and lakes. Some of the lakes that we go to are close to our home like Castaic Lake, and Lake Pyramid, but our favorite, Lake Nacimiento is in central California. We also love to go to the Colorado River it has the best waterskiing around. We have been to the Sequoia National Forrest to camp and are planning a trip to Yosemite as well.
Tiziana about Andrew:
Andrew was born and raised in Southern California and is a graduate of California State University Northridge, he has 1 sister, 1 half sister and 2 half brothers. Andrew is Irish, French and even a little Native American he is true melting pot of American culture. He is warm and generous with a quirky sense of humor and always willing to help out when needed. The majority of Andrew’s family lives close by and is a very important part of our life we are blessed to have them so close. He also has family in Texas where he spent a lot of time during his childhood, and it holds a very close place in his heart.
Andrew is an editor for a Post Production Company that specializes in Motion Picture marketing. He has been working there for over 5 years and enjoys the challenge and diversity of what he does. His schedule allows him to be home during the day with our son, pick him up from school and take him to gymnastics class once a week.
Andrew is an avid outdoorsman, having grown up in Southern California he spent most of his younger life camping, hiking, and biking. One of the favorite family activities is taking the boat up to one of the local lakes for a weekend of waterskiing, fishing and camping. He also has a passion for the arts, and studied acting and drama through most of his high school and college years. He also enjoys more than anything spending time with Alexander playing and taking bike rides and teaching him about all the superheroes of his childhood.
Most of all the true fulfillment that he feels came the day Alexander was born; he is an amazing father, both loving, playful and very hands on in every way. I feel so blessed to not only have him as my partner and husband but as the father to our son.
Andrew about Tiziana:
First let me say that my wife is one of the brightest and most dedicated loyal people I know. I feel so fortunate to have met her so many years ago and I only love her more with every passing year.
She was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and has 1 older brother who still lives outside Philadelphia with his wife and 3 children. Her parents (still married over 45 years) aunts and cousins all live in the Philadelphia area. Even though there is the distance of 3500 miles Tiziana is very close to her family and we try and see each other several times a year. Tiziana is 100% Italian, her parents we born, raised and even married in Italy. Italian was her first language she enjoys every opportunity to continue speaking it when she can. Her culture has played a very big role in her life and our hope is to teach our future children Italian and travel to Italy to visit family as she did as a child.
After graduating from Drexel University in Philadelphia Tiziana decided to drive cross-country to follow her dreams of being an editor in the entertainment industry. After only one year she landed a job with a company that would define her career. She now is an editor for a Motion Picture marketing company and works on Trailers for Feature Films. Her job allows her the creative outlet she loves so much with the flexibility to also work from home.
Tiziana is a water-skier and grew up as an athlete playing sports along side her older brother. She loves biking, hiking and camping and more than anything her greatest joy and pleasure in life is playing and spending time with Alexander. She loves the bedtime ritual that she has with Alexander and it is something I love watching. She is an amazing mother, not only nurturing and loving but patient and kind. I feel so blessed to have her as my wife and mother to our son.
About Alexander:
Alexander just had his 3rd birthday and is in preschool and loving every minute of it. He is a sweet and sensitive little boy who loves playing outdoors and with his friends. He loves Spiderman, Batman and any super hero will do. He loves trains and trucks and playing with the dogs outside. We talk to him often about bringing a new baby home and he is always excited about the idea. We look so forward to the day that he will be a big brother.
Our Family and Friends:
We have a very close network of friends and family who we love very much. A lot of our time is spent together with them, having dinners, picnics, or just being together. I would not be describing our family completely if I didn’t also tell you about our 2 dogs, Loki and Lincoln. They are as much a part of us as anything and are amazing playmates for our son, and they too can’t wait to have a new little one in the house.
In Conclusion:
It is our greatest desire to expand our family with another child and give him or her all the love and opportunity life has to offer. We hope this letter will give you peace of mind in knowing that by placing your child with us, there will never be a day that goes by that he or she doesn’t know how loved and special they are. We are amazed and inspired by your courage in making this decision for the best welfare of your child. Our thoughts and love go out to you in your time of need.
