Stacey and Andrea

ABOUT US
We’re Andrea and Stacey! We first crossed paths nearly 3 years before we actually began dating. Without even knowing it, we worked across the street from one another. We initially met through our love of animals and years later fate finally stepped in and brought us together as a couple! As cliché as it may sound, it was truly love at first sight for us. Stacey proposed on Valentine’s Day with Andrea’s families blessings in the most romantic way ever. She put the words “Will You Marry Me” in a fortune cookie (we both love Chinese food) and with tears in our eyes we were engaged. At that moment we knew we would be together forever. We shared a beautiful commitment ceremony with 95 of our closest family and friends on the beach in Florida on October 4, 2008.

We are twin flames! That is how one of our dear friends described our relationship. We love to hold hands in the car even if it is just down the street and back, we snuggle in the movie theatre and even have these super cute nicknames for one another. We finish each other’s sentences, we encourage each other in anything we attempt to do, support one another in every aspect of our lives and feel so blessed every day to be able to share this journey together. We are extremely adventurous and spontaneous and are always seeing and trying new things. We love to laugh and not take life too seriously. We have built such a beautiful life together.

Today, we run a very successful small animal veterinary hospital in Naples, FL. We have been blessed to do what we both truly love doing each and every day. Having our own business together has allowed us to lead a very comfortable lifestyle. We often enjoy taking vacations together snow skiing, hiking and basically anything outdoors. Having our own business also gives us the opportunity to stay at home with our children and set our own schedule and routine. We think it would be such an incredible opportunity for our children to grow up in and around our animal hospital since we both believe animals bring out the best in everyone.

We have always dreamed of raising children together and watching them grow up. We have imagined what it would feel like to watch our children sing during a school Christmas performance, or cheering them on during little league, wiping away their tears when the get a boo-boo on their knee, and even watching them get ready for their first prom. Something so simple to them would mean so much more to us as parents.

We currently share our gorgeous and spacious home with our 4 dogs and cat and would love the opportunity to open our home up to children. We want to thank you again for taking the step towards making our dream come true!

Meet Stacey (Through Andrea’s Eyes)
Being with Stacey is like having a slumber party with my best friend every day. Stacey is the most kind-hearted, selfless person I know. Her dedication to me, our family of dogs and our cat and her career is amazing. Stacey spends her entire day taking care of dogs and cats as a veterinarian. Her compassion as a small animal doctor is unique to anything I have ever seen, our clients and patients love and admire her so much. It has always been Stacey’s dream to help animals and create a safe and comfortable environment for them. This has also carried over in her personal life with me and our 4 dogs and cat. Stacey seems to always put us first, and it is her nature to make sure everyone around her is happy and healthy. Stacey is my forever, she is the love of my life, I truly cherish every moment I have with her. She has the most beautiful and purest souls I know! She is so affectionate with me, still to this day when we go to bed she starts off by saying she loves me and my reply is always, “I love you more.” She is always doing the “little” things for me that make such a huge difference. If she wakes up before me, she will put toothpaste on my toothbrush for me or have a hot cup of Chai Tea ready for me when I walk into the kitchen. She is my forever……

Meet Andrea (Through Stacey’s Eyes)
From the first day I laid eyes on Andrea I knew there was something so special about her. Deep inside , I knew she was the one I wanted to build my life with. From that moment I did everything in my power to make all of her dreams come true.Andrea is a very passionate person, her love and dedication to her family, friends and the success of our business are her priorities. She is always available to lend a helping hand, an ear or a shoulder to cry on. Our employees and clients absolutely love her. She makes everyone who meets her laugh and makes their experienceso memorable and enjoyable, no wonder our hospital is the most successful one in town. There is something so natural watching Andrea with children. She was meant to be a mom. From her nieces and nephews to ourclients babies, they all feel a sense of security and happiness when she holds them, and that is reconfirmed by that beautiful smile of hers. Family isthe most important part of her life and she goes out of her way to take care of the ones she loves. She is an exceptional athlete and I am right there cheering her on when she competes. She loves to cook and makes a mean biscuits and gravy. I love everything about Andrea and am blessed to have her in my life. She is my soul mate and the love of my life, adopting a baby would help me fulfill my promise to make all of her dreams come true…

Our Home and Community
This past April we actually purchased our dream home, a 4-bedroom plus den pool home specifically because we fell in love with the nursery and play area the previous owner had set up for their children. We share our home with our 4-legged family consisting of Taylor, our eldest and probably wisest Boston Terrier. When she isn’t snuggled against one of us she is usually under the covers waiting for us to come to bed. Tilly, otherwise known as “T-Pain” is cool, full of energy and the maternal one of the family. When Tilly isn’t licking everyone’s faces you can usually find her with some sort of ball ready to play catch. Then there is Mia, aka “Moo-Moo,” our blonde Golden Retriever. We rescued her about 2 years ago. She is perfect, an angel with the most amazing brown puppy dog eyes which more often than not are staring up at you. She is overly fond of the pool, if we even whisper the word “swim” she is the first one in and the last one out. The newest addition is Macey, a Yellow Labrador Retriever which we received as a Christmas present after the sudden passing of our precious 13 year old Lab, Maddy. Macey is our 50lb lapdog who loves everyone and always has to have something in her mouth to greet you. Her tail is in constant wag-mode and never stops. She loves her siblings and loves coming to the clinic every day with us. Finally, last but certainly not least is Oscar, our Orange Tabby. Oscar is the man of the house and loves to walk around like he owns it. We found Oscar along the roadside one day. He was 2lbs and had just been tossed out of the window of a moving vehicle. Oscar clearly isn’t scarred by his rough beginning and now every day sits on the lanai basking in the sun and pretends to hunt lizards with his “jedi” moves! Our furry children love everybody whether it’s our family, friends or perfect strangers we invite into our home.

We live in the most popular neighborhood for children, they are always seen running up and down the streets or selling cookies and lemonade at their make-shift lemonade stands. Even though we just recently moved there, our neighbors have welcomed us with open arms and hearts. Fourth of July specifically is a sight to be seen in our neighborhood, people drive from all over to watch the fireworks display put on by our neighbors.

We love attending our Unity Church where we are actively involved in several of their Philanthropic organizations. We both especially enjoy volunteering at the local Soup Kitchen on Friday’s feeding the less fortunate. Unity Church embraces all people without discrimination which is important to both of us and our lifestyle. We would like to allow our children to learn about various religions through church and travel and create their own journey towards spiritual growth.

Hobbies and Interests
We love the outdoors. The weather in Florida is beautiful but we both have a love for the mountains too. In Florida, we enjoy going to the beach. Andrea loves playing beach volleyball while Stacey is usually working on her tan and cheering on the sidelines. We both love being on the water, boating, fishing and swimming. The dogs get so excited when we take them on the boat and to the beach with us. We also are avid triathletes and love training for both triathlons and running races. We train by riding our road bikes to the beach, swimming in the gulf and doing a quick run along the beach.

We look forward to hosting weekend cookouts and pool parties. Our close-knit group of family and friends often come over with their children to grill out, swim in the pool and listen to music. Our home is always the “go-to” home for get togethers!

When planning a vacation we usually choose a new place we have yet to discover. We like to include hiking, mountain biking, camping and snow skiing as some of our activities. We love the idea of the changing seasons and since Florida gives us warm weather year round we like to get a taste of the cold. We just recently spent a week snow skiing in Vail, Colorado and are planning a two week vacation this year to Maui, Hawaii to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We love living so close to the Florida theme parks. We enjoy taking long weekends and going to Orlando or Tampa to visit Disney World, Busch Gardens, Sea World and Universal Studios. We always imagined the expression on our children’s faces when they meet Mickey Mouse for the first time or take their first ride on a roller coaster.

We look forward to involving our children in our favorite hobbies, activities and vacations and creating lasting memories together as a family.

“I have watched the two of you together, the special love you share for one another, and pray that you will also know that special gift, the most wonderful gift of all; a baby, your baby, to fill that “waiting” place in your hearts, and find your hearts are at home. I treasure you both.”

Family Matters
From the beginning, our families have been in full support of our decision to adopt children together. Every day we feel so fortunate and blessed to have family who support us and can’t wait to become grandparents, aunts and cousins to our children.

Most of Andrea’s family lives in the Midwest including her two sisters, their children and her mother Diane and her husband Dan. Andrea’s older sister Heather and her husband are also currently going through the adoption process and look forward to sharing their experience with us as well. It will be great to have two adopted children in the same family together. Andrea’s sister Heidi has 4 children ranging in ages from 19 years old to 12 years old. We opened our home to our niece this past summer so she could attend college in Florida. She has since transferred to a University in Indiana.

Andrea’s mom is just waiting for us to tell her we are expecting so she can move down here to Florida. She wants to be a nanny to our children and can’t wait to be in our lives on a regular basis.

Stacey’s family lives just over 2 hours from us in the Clearwater area. Being so close, they are excited to be able to see our children often and spend holidays together. This will be the first grandchild for Stacey’s mom and dad and they can’t wait to shower them with gifts and love.

Our pets are looking forward to sharing our home with children. They often attend local events with us to support our animal hospital and children are always asking to pet them and give them kisses. They always offer up a face lick and a tail wag to the children interested….

“Where does one end and the other begin? It is difficult to tell, as it should be. It is rare that one finds or is found by the one who is also looking for you. Andrea and Stacey both waited a long time to be with that one. They would be wonderful parents-their child would be loved, protected and nurtured. It’s all about love.”

From Dan, Andrea’s stepdad and Stacey’s “Poppy”

To our special birth mother
We can’t begin to tell you how excited we are to have children. We know this decision for you has not been easy. What you have decided to do will make our dreams come true and will give us an opportunity to raise a child together. For that we cannot express our deepest respect and admiration to you. So, thank you for taking this step with us together. We kept trying to find the words to describe the role that we, together with you, will play in our child’s life.
