Scott and Kim
Hi. We are Scott and Kim, and we thank you for taking the time to consider us as the family for your baby. The strength that you are showing at this time is extraordinary, and we admire you for it. If you feel that we are the right match for you and your child, you can take comfort in knowing that you will be giving the most wonderful gift of all, the life of a child, to a family that cherishes the opportunity to love, nurture, and celebrate the life of your baby.

OUR JOURNEY BEGINS…
Our story begins in 1996 when we met on a double-blind date near New Orleans, Louisiana. It was a funny night, because we were both uninterested in our dates but really liked each other. We quickly became best friends, fell in love and married a year later. We’ve been married for 12 years and have a solid, loving relationship and a nurturing home, where we enjoy sharing our love for hiking, traveling, camping, and sports with our two girls. Since their birth, we’ve traveled to the Grand Canyon, camped in Banff and Yosemite, walked through the geysers at Yellowstone, and hiked across trails and glaciers in Alaska. We are all truly excited about the many adventures to come and the opportunity to share them with another member of our family!
WHAT KIM LOVES ABOUT SCOTT…
When I first met Scott, I was drawn to his strong confidence and his great devotion to the Lord. I must admit, he stole my heart with his sweet, caring spirit and his incredible singing voice, which would melt me every time he played his guitar or sang. Scott is the rock of our family and has the gift of being able to make me laugh exactly when I need it…he is such a blessing to me, and I am thankful that the Lord brought us together. Scott is a very patient & giving father…I love the way he makes each of our girls feel special with their very own “date night with daddy” at least once a month. I get great joy out of watching him with our girls and know that he will be a loving father to your baby.
WHAT SCOTT LOVES ABOUT KIM…
I started loving Kim the moment she gave me that first BIG hug. She is a caring, fun-loving person…I truly enjoy just hanging out with her. I have always admired her love for friends and family and think it’s great that she loves football just as much as I do. We both enjoy having a bunch of friends over to our house for cookouts and big games, and we spend lots of time visiting with aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. For more than 12 years now, I’ve enjoyed traveling to new places with Kim and starting our family together. Kim is an intelligent and compassionate woman who loves our girls with her whole heart and is very anxious to share her love with another child.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT SCOTT…
First, I love being a dad. I love spending time with my family and have never missed a graduation, recital, play, swim meet, soccer game, or race. You should also know that I love football, baseball, hiking, camping, fishing and cooking. Whether I’m cooking on the grill, boiling seafood, or frying the best crab cakes you’ve ever had, I have a lot of fun cooking for my family and friends. I joined the Coast Guard when I was 17 and the experience has enriched my life. I have experienced the joy of pulling someone from the water and the sadness of having to tell a family that their loved one was lost at sea. Through it all, it’s helped me to appreciate and love my family all the more.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT KIM…
I love life, I love to laugh, and I love spending time with my friends and family. I also love to watch football, hike, travel, eat Scott’s yummy cooking, and ride my bike. I am proud to have finished a triathlon and a handful of running races, but I enjoy bike racing most of all. With all of the things I enjoy, my family comes first and I am delighted to have the ability to be a full-time mommy when the Lord blesses us with a baby!

OUR HOME…
We have a great life in the rolling hills of Southern Maryland and are excited to have recently bought a house where we plan to raise our family. Our 3-acre home is cozy and perfectly situated, near our church and school, in a neighborhood with lots of children. We love having the room for the girls to run and play outside, while living only minutes away from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Annapolis, and Chesapeake Beach, which offer many fun activities for our family. We also enjoy weekends at our West Virginia cabin, a beautiful 100-acre parcel that’s been in the family for almost 200 years.

OUR FAMILY…
We are very close to our extended family, so big family gatherings are very important to us. Our most favorite memories are of fun filled vacations spent with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. We enjoy occasional visits with our family throughout the year, and we spend every Thanksgiving and Christmas with our extended families.
Our holidays are filled with children’s laughter, fun games and lots of great food.
Both of our parents have been married for over 40 years and between the 2 of us, we have 3 happily married siblings with 3 or more children each. In fact, your baby will have 10 first cousins to play and grow up with, ranging in age from 5 months to 13 years.
WHAT WE BELIEVE…
We are both Christians and believe that we are called to raise our children to be happy, patient, kind, & trustworthy. Our whole family is anxious to welcome another child into our lives, and we are ready for the adventures and challenges of raising
a third child.

MEET CATHERINE, SARAH, & LIBBY…
Our girls have warm & compassionate hearts and are super excited to have a baby to love and care for. Catherine is active on the local swim team & is a very nurturing big sister. Sarah enjoys gymnastics and loves to make others laugh. Libby is our furry baby who loves long walks and playing with the kids in the neighborhood.
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. As excited as we are to welcome a baby into our home, we pray that God helps you make the choice that is best for you and your child.
Blessings,
Scott, Kim, Catherine & Sarah
