Paige and Mike

Thank you so much for considering us to provide a loving, nurturing home for your child. We are humbled by your courage and selflessness and can only imagine the decisions you are facing. We believe with all our hearts that your love for your child will guide you to the right family. Building a family together is something we've dreamed about for a long time and we are so excited about becoming parents! If you choose us, we promise to provide your child with a stable home full of love, a great education, exposure to music, art, travel and sports and support to pursue his or her passions in life – just like we had growing up.

OUR STORY
We are Paige and Mike. We met 13 years ago at a party in Southern California and connected immediately over a discussion about our favorite music. Mike proposed on Memorial Day while we were hiking above the ocean in one of our favorite places in his hometown of San Diego. We were married in Paige’s hometown of Phoenix surrounded by all of our family and friends from high school, college and beyond.

Our interest in music first attracted us to each other and it continues to be a big part of our lives. One of our favorite things to do together is to see live music. We’ve been to so many concerts! From classic rock to more recent bands to classical – we love it. Paige is the actual musician in the family and plays piano and bass guitar. She even was in a band for a short time with friends and got to play a set live on the radio. She recently started taking drum lessons, which has been a fun (and loud) hobby.

We love to be active. Mike plays in many golf tournaments and Paige enjoys working out and water aerobics. We love taking our dog on walks together through our neighborhood. It’s a great way for us to catch up and socialize with our friends along our walk. Hiking is only a ten-minute walk from our house and we often take Maggie on long hikes on the weekends. We also enjoy eating out, seeing movies, and relaxing at the beach. Most of our friends have kids and we often get together for dinner, baseball games or BBQs – whether in L.A., San Diego or Phoenix. We can’t wait to have a little one of our own to join in the fun!

We also love to travel to new places - both in the U.S. and abroad. Our honeymoon was in Hawaii and we’ve been back several times to different islands – going on hikes in rain forests, seeing a live volcano up close and just relaxing on the beach with a good book. We also have explored most of California, the East Coast and the Midwest. We had a great adventure back packing through Italy - enjoying the beautiful countryside and wonderful food. We also traveled to Australia where we got to pet kangaroos and hold adorably cute wallabies.

MEET MIKE – WRITTEN BY PAIGE
Mike is one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have every met. He is very genuine and friendly and a fantastic listener. People always seem to remember having met him and he has a great circle of friends – many of whom he’s known since high school. I love seeing how devoted his is to our dog, Maggie. He loves taking her on daily walks, giving her ‘massages’ and cuddling with her on the couch. I know this is just a glimpse of how dedicated and passionate he will be with a child. Mike is a fantastic athlete and is known as ‘the natural’ by his friends because he is good at almost any sport. These days he loves golfing and hiking. Mike is also the chef in our family and makes a really tasty turkey meatloaf and great Mexican dish we call ‘Hey Hey Ole!’

Mike works in sales for a wine company, which has taken him to exciting places like Spain, Portugal, Australia, Italy and France. He loves his job and is very successful at leading a team of people. Mike works from home and has a flexible schedule, which will give him lots of time to spend with our child.

MEET PAIGE – WRITTEN BY MIKE
Paige is smart, kind and thoughtful and follows her passions. She is also very loyal and has many long-term friendships that have lasted from childhood. She is open-minded, active and musically talented. Paige has a strong sense of family and is always talking with her parents and brother. Paige loves to travel and is always seeking new experiences whether it is going to see a band play, heading to an art museum or just finding a new beach to take Maggie for a day out to play. Paige is warm, caring, understanding and has a kind way about her. Kids and animals sense this, as they are always calm when she is near.

Paige works for Universal Studios in the home entertainment group. She has a really creative and rewarding job overseeing the marketing for their family DVD and Blu-ray releases. She loves that she gets to work on family movies and can’t wait to apply some first-hand knowledge with her own child!

OUR FAMILIES
Mike and Paige are both very close to their families, and everyone in their extended families is extremely supportive of their adoption process. Paige has first experience with adoption. When she was very young, her father passed away from Leukemia. After her mother remarried, her husband adopted both Paige and her brother. Paige considers this the best decision she’s made in her life.

Although her parents live out of state, she talks with them at least once a week, and Mike and Paige travel to see them several times a year. We always spend Christmas with Paige’s family which a special time for us. It always includes a beautifully decorated house, delicious meals together, great conversation and a big tree with tons of presents underneath. Maggie, Paige’s parent’s dog, and her brother’s two dogs just love ripping the wrapping paper to shreds after Christmas morning. Paige is also very close to her brother who lives in L.A. She talks to him almost every night during her commute home. Mike and Paige see him often for dinner or concerts together.

Mike is the youngest of 6 children and talks to his dad every week. Mike was especially close to his mother who passed away nine years ago and takes after her patient nature, determinedness and love of family. He is especially great friends with his sister and has grown up as favorite ‘Uncle Mike’ to her two sons. We frequently travel to San Diego to spend time with Mike’s dad, siblings and 6 nieces and nephews.

OUR HOME AND COMMUNITY
We live in a tree filled beautiful neighborhood in a suburb just outside of Los Angeles. Our house is a cute three bedroom traditional home with a good-sized grassy backyard – perfect for playing with kids. Our dog, Maggie, loves to explore the plants and sun herself in our yard. We are close to great parks where families meet for picnics, to play on the swing sets, play tennis or basketball or listen to summer concerts. The neighborhood has tons of families with young kids who ride their bikes or play in the street with friends. We walk our dog through the neighborhood almost daily and along the way visit our friends and Maggie’s many dog friends. Maggie is a gentle, friendly lab and loves it when kids play with her – rewarding them with tail wags and licks on the face.

Through several friends of ours who have adopted, we have seen what an enriching experience it can be for all of those whose lives it touches.
