Choose A Family : Parent Profile
John and Jaime
Dear Birth Mother,
Our words cannot begin to express how grateful we are that you're viewing our profile. We can't imagine how difficult this journey is for you and would like to thank you for your courage. We have struggled with infertility for four long years and are now at a place where we are excited again due to the miracle of adoption. We long so deeply for a child to love and cherish and know that this is the path we were meant to take. We are John and Jaime and we would love to tell you a little bit about ourselves.
Our story
John and I met in April of 2005. He saw me from across the room and decided he needed to meet me. After talking for about an hour he asked for my number and left me with a kiss on the cheek. I had never given my number to a stranger. Never. I was so new to this that I wrote my number down on a napkin rather than just telling him so he could put it in his phone. But I knew something was different about him so I took a chance. Here we are six years later and he still has that napkin!
We are a down to earth couple. We're both active and fit and enjoy being outdoors and having a good time. However, there's nothing like a lazy Saturday reading a good book. We love to travel and have been to Italy, Mexico, Niagara Falls, many states in the US and on a cruise. We would also love to take a trip to Greece to see John's heritage. On the weekends we enjoy tailgating at football games, watching Tristan play softball and volleyball, going to church and hanging out with friends.
We both have years of experience with children. Not only does John have his 13 year old daughter but he was also a soccer coach for nine years. He enjoyed coaching but as Tristan’s softball schedule got more demanding he decided to stop so he wouldn’t have to miss any of her tournaments. We also babysit our goddaughter, Emma, as well as some of our other friends’ kids. We both volunteer for charities and I volunteer at our church’s nursery.

Our Friends and Families
Both sets of our parents are still married which gives us a strong sense of family. My parents have been married 43 years. I have a large extended family most of which live within 45 minutes away of our home. I am very close to my parents, sister and brother and see them quite often. My parents and sister both have vacation homes at the beach and we are lucky to be able to spend a good bit of time there with them in the summer. My sister also has a farm with horses, cows, dogs and a pond for fishing. We love to go hang out with them.
John's parents have been married 39 years. He has a large Greek family that lives in Canada. We visit them every year and usually once per year his mom and dad come down to visit us. His family is exactly what you would expect from a Greek family. They are loud, funny and loving! I feel so blessed to have become a part of the crew.
We both have dynamic friendships that offer us lots of support. We have five couples who are currently expecting in our inner circle. Three of these couples will be first time parents and we are so excited to begin this journey with them.
Meet John (by Jaime)
I lovingly refer to John as my rock. We have had some tough times over the past four years of infertility but he has been by my side through it all, and we are stronger because of it. He is goofy and witty and would do anything for a smile. If I ever feel down he knows exactly what to do to make me laugh.
John was born in Canada and came to the United States when he received a soccer scholarship fifteen years ago. He is still extremely active and continues to play men's league soccer and softball. We like to spend time together swimming, playing tennis and walking the trails around our neighborhood. Still… there is something to be said for curling up on the couch together and watching a movie.
John has a 13 year old daughter from a previous marriage. He attends every softball tournament, every volleyball game and every school function. He is usually Mr. Cool but he is quite goofy and animated with her. I love to watch them interact! He's already such a wonderful and active father so I can't wait to see him from the beginning.
John is very intelligent and works as a programmer for a large bank. He is also an attentive husband who maintains the yard, helps with the house work and cooks dinner on a fairly regular basis. I couldn’t ask for more!
Meet Jaime (by John)
Jaime is my soul mate. We met by chance but it was fate that brought us together. She is a very loving and strong woman. Her one true wish in life is to be a mother no matter how we are blessed with a child.
Jaime is deeply sensitive. It amazes me how she cares for all animals and people. She roots for the underdog and has a gift for seeing the good in people. She is definitely the peace maker among all of our friends and family. She just wants everyone to be happy and feel loved! Kids gravitate toward her and love her playful personality and sense of humor.
Jaime is also a very intelligent woman. She has a bachelor's degree in Accounting as well as her Masters in Tax Accounting. She works for a prominent but small Wealth Management group but if we get the opportunity of fulfilling our dream with a child she will be working part-time to spend more time with the baby.

About Tristan
Tristan has a light that radiates from within. She is John’s daughter from a previous marriage who spends every other weekend with us. She is a beautiful, 13 year old, 8th grader who usually gets A's in school. She is very active in softball, volleyball and church activities but her favorite activity is softball. She is catcher for a travel ball team and is one of the best in the state! She is also tender hearted and loves to draw and write poetry. She is excited to finally have a little brother or sister to spoil!

Our Pup
We have a three year old Morkie (Maltese and Yorkie mix) named Lexi. She has brought so much joy to our lives. She is so sweet and loves to roll over so all of the neighborhood kids can rub her belly. It is sweet to see John kiss her and tell her what a sweet girl she is. He proudly walks his 10 lb furball every morning. She is my first dog and I didn't know it could be possible to love an animal so much. She has definitely become part of the family!
Our Home
We live in a large neighborhood with a top notch elementary school in walking distance. We also have a community pool, tennis courts and walking trails. If you take a walk down our sidewalks you will usually see some kids being driven to and from school on golf carts, a game of touch football in the front yard, and kids riding bicycles or scooters. We have a four bedroom, three and half bath home with a finished basement and lots of room for your child to run around and play.
