Choose A Family : Parent Profile
John and Curtis
DEAR BIRTHMOTHER,
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about us and our dream of growing our family. We are very happy that you are considering us as your child’s adoptive parents and want you to know that they will be loved unconditionally by us and their new extended family. They will also be raised to know that they can achieve all that they aspire to and will be given the support to do so. We have both looked forward to starting a family and are ready for this next stage in our lives!

ABOUT US
Hello, we are John and Curtis. We met at our neighborhood coffee shop in Seattle, Washington, where both of us were living at the time. Three lattes later, we discovered that we had a lot in common and the quick coffee break, turned into a dinner date. A remarkable friendship then quickly turned into a exceptional relationship. Five wonderful years later, we still enjoy sharing a good latte together!
We also enjoy spending quality time with our two Italian Greyhounds (Giuseppe & Rossolino), relaxing on our boat, snow skiing, hiking, experiencing new and different foods and entertaining good friends.
Traveling is also another one of our great pleasures. A few of our favorite cities are Montreal, Vancouver BC, and New York. They are vibrant and provide significant cultural experiences, which is what we enjoy. We look forward to sharing this love with your child.
John got a promotion and we moved to Los Angeles in January 2010. We have had many visits from friends and family and truly enjoy what the city has to offer. What child wouldn’t like to have Disneyland in their backyard!

MEET CURTIS
Curtis was born in Moses Lake, Washington, and was raised on the family farm. He comes from a tight-knit family and is the youngest of four children. All of his siblings grew up working on the farm and understood the value of hard work. Because they worked hard, they were rewarded with road trips around the country. One of his most memorable was a ski vacation to Vail, Colorado. This was on the way to Arizona to spend time with his grandparents, which he was very close to.
Curtis loved to swim from a very early age and was always part of swim team, including competing in many state championships. Although he enjoyed the physical aspect of swimming, he also had a creative side. After high school, Curtis went to college in Seattle and graduated with a Bachelors in Interior Design. He is currently one of the top design consultants in his company in Los Angeles, a job he enjoys tremendously.
Family has always been a priority for Curtis. He loves spending time with his nephews and enjoys attending their basketball and soccer games. He looks forward to raising a family of his own and watch all of the cousins play together. This is a dream he’s always had and plans to stay at home with your child to provide a nuturing environment.
ABOUT CURTIS – FROM JOHN
Curtis is the most amazing person I know. He is selfless and extremely patient. You can see this clearly when he is with his nephews. He always puts their needs first and I can confidently say that he will make a great dad. I can't wait to raise children with him!

MEET JOHN
John was raised in a military family. His father was in the Air Force while his mom stayed at home. He is the oldest of three siblings and has two younger sisters. Growing up in the military, he's been able to experience many different cultures and people. He has lived from New Mexico to England and actually acquired a British accent during his time overseas. He quickly lost it when he moved back when he was five, however! Since his family moved every three years, they had to rely even more on each other for support. Because of this, they are very close. His sisters go to him for advice and he is truly the wiser older brother.
Traveling frequently as a child instilled the joy to see and experience new things, whether it be food or culture. He has sung at Carnegie Hall, traveled to the top of the Eiffel Tower, and hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru. He looks forward to sharing these experiences and creating new ones with your child.
John is currently Director of Product Management for a major insurance company.
He loves his job in that it provides the opportunity to be both analytical and creative to solve problems. It is also very dynamic and allows the flexibility of working from home.
Having a family of his own has always been a priority for John. He looks forward to starting this process and experiencing the joys of parenthood.
ABOUT JOHN – FROM CURTIS
John is one of the funniest people I know, he has a way of making any situation a good one, even when you didn't think it was possible! John loves family and has always wanted to become a father. Seeing how he lights up when he is around our nephews, and how they take to him only make me love him that much more! I can't wait to start a family with him and share that love with our children.

FRIENDS AND FAMILY
Our friends and family are very important to us. All are supportive and as excited as we are about starting a family. They are spread apart, from Washington to Texas, but we find time to see each other several times a year. John's family has an annual vacation trip, the last one being a cruise to the Bahamas. It was a great time for both Curtis and John to see his parents, sisters, nephew, aunt, uncle and cousins.
The one constant with John's family gatherings is laughter.
We regularly spend time with Curtis's family and enjoy ski and boating trips. We look forward to teaching our child to ski so they can keep up with their older cousins!
Christmas and Thanksgiving are always spent with family and we all look forward to adding another place setting during these cherished family get togethers.
HOME AND COMMUNITY
We live in a townhouse in walkable community in Los Angeles on a tree lined street. It is close to some of the best museums, restaurants, parks and beaches in the country. There are quite a few young families in our community that regularly get together for child “play dates” at one of the local parks or attend fun child events. This is a supportive community and we look forward to exposing your child to these experiences.
