Dear Birthmother,
Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We know that this will be one of the most significant choices you make in your life. We respect you for the decision you are making and know it is not easy. It requires courage, love, faith, and selflessness and we admire you for possessing these qualities. We praise you for your strength and the love you have for your child. Our family has been blessed by adoption in many ways. Our two boys, Caleb and Jacob both came to us through adoption. They have been the source of our greatest joys. We enjoy being parents and we know how blessed we are to have children to love. Our birthmothers have a special place in our hearts and in our family. Your baby will be loved, taught, nurtured, and cherished in every way. We know without a doubt that adoption is a special and unique process that binds people together and builds families. We appreciate your decision to choose adoption and would be honored to be a part of that plan.
Our family
We have been very blessed to become parents to two wonderful boys through adoption. When we were unable to conceive naturally and through other medical processes we turned to adoption. We were already aware of the blessings adoption can bring to the lives of others, as we both have family and friends who either were adopted as children or currently are parents to adopted children. We are hoping to continue to build our family through adoption so that we might enjoy the love and happiness of another child in our home. We both come from families with siblings and think it is important to grow up with brothers and sisters in life. We have learned so much about parenting from life with Caleb and Jacob. We have learned that patience, love and guidance are important in building character, respect, and responsibility. We laugh and play every day with our boys. We delight in watching them learning and discovering the world around them. They have grown to love and appreciate one another as they share rowdy adventures together.
About Jason
I enjoy camping, Dutch oven cooking, hiking, hunting, biking, and lifting weights. My family says that I make the best burgers that they have ever eaten. I like to study family history and find out who my ancestors are. I like to spend time studying world, national and local news events. I like to volunteer my time to help friends, community, and church, such as working with youth, helping people move, doing yard work, and repairs. I like relaxing, reading, sporting events, and watching movies. I take pleasure in spending time with Wendy and the boys running errands and doing home improvement projects. I enjoy my work as a police detective very much and love studying case law. I lived in a foreign country for two years on a church mission and learned to speak Spanish, a talent I use daily at work. I enjoy teaching at work and training other detectives. Above all I am committed to spending time with my wife and children experiencing fun and new things with each other. I love to teach my children and spend one-on-one time with them playing, learning, and discussing a variety of topics.
About Wendy
I love to read and play games. I have always loved sports. I like to play volleyball, racquetball, bike riding, softball, and going for walks. I enjoy scrapbooking and card making. I love to garden, both flower and vegetable. I love to go to new places and learn to do new things. I also love to go to my favorite places. I take pleasure in being outside and enjoying the world around us. I love to go to the mountains and relax there. I especially love to spend time with my husband and children. We always have such a great time together even if we are running errands. I enjoy baking and sharing goodies with family, friends and neighbors. I enjoy doing craft projects. I get pleasure from learning and sharing what I learn with others. I love to go camping and spend time outdoors. I also like to go the beach and enjoy being by the ocean. I truly enjoy being a stay at home mom and taking care of my family. I find such joy and happiness in the simple things that I share daily with Caleb and Jacob.
About Caleb
Caleb has joked that he will never get married, but that he and Jacob will buy a house, live together, and be brothers forever. Caleb may one day change his mind on this, but it does make us happy to know that our boys love each other. Caleb does very well in school and enjoys learning and spending time with his friends from school. He attends a school that has a philosophy of core curriculum on a higher level and challenges students to excel beyond traditional grade levels. He recently won a bike from the school fundraiser this year and is extremely happy with his new bike. He loves to ride his bike and be outdoors. He is starting his fourth season of flag football. He loves to play sports and make friends on his team. Caleb has also played soccer and t-ball. He is a very good boy and likes to help around the house and then PLAY. Caleb is always looking for projects to do and enjoys building, making things, and doing experiments. He loves to play ball in the back yard with his Dad and brother. Caleb is a good example to his brother and we love him very much.
About Jacob
Jacob really keeps us busy. He is a non-stop boy. He just started pre-school and now knows all his sounds to the alphabet. He sounds out every letter he sees. We hope this helps him to become a very good reader. He loves his friends at school and likes to talk about what he learns. He is also playing flag football and just finished his first season. He really enjoyed his teammates and learning how to play football. He was always playing with a big grin on his face and towards the end of the season he actually started to pull flags. He likes to play outside climbing and swinging. Jacob delights in having books read to him. He enjoys video games and has gotten very good at Mario Kart. He is learning how to ride a bike and loves to be outside and play football with his Dad and brother in the yard. He loves to wrestle and chase around with his family and friends. You will usually find Jacob attached to Caleb around the house and outside. Jacob looks to Caleb for fun and guidance. Caleb is currently trying to teach him how to build forts and not just destroy them. Jacob is a good boy and we love him.
Extended family and friends
Our family loves spending time together and realizes the importance of family support. Both of us come from strong families committed to loving marriages. Our parents are good examples to us and we look to them for guidance and direction in our lives. We both have many siblings who are all married and have children as well. While we are spread out somewhat we enjoy getting together often for events and holidays. Caleb and Jacob always find some fun to have with their cousins, who total 34 in all. We also have several close friends living nearby. We gather with them as often as we can and our children are good friends. Several of the families that we have been longtime friends with have adopted children as well. Our children are starting to understand that they are adopted and it is a good support for them. They feel like they are in a special club. We love our friends and family and truly enjoy the support they give us.
Our Life
We like to keep busy with activities around the house and after school. They boys love to play flag football and we have made great friends with the families of the boys on the team. We also share our life with three boxers. Our dog’s names are Nelson, Harley and Cash. Nelson is 9, Harley is 8 and Cash is 8 months old. We have had to get used to having a puppy again. He is fun but sure makes a mess in the back yard and house when he gets curious. Our dogs are a part of our lives and have grown up with our boys and they love each other. Caleb and Jacob love to take the dogs for walks. We are quite a parade going down the street. We have a great neighborhood. We live in a home on a Cul-de-sac. They boys love to ride their bikes and play outside. We have lived in our home for over 10 years. We have a great big back yard with lots of grass and a super fun swing set. We have fruit trees and a garden (until our puppy decided it was his favorite place to dig). We have great families for neighbors and currently helped host the sixth annual block party. Our neighbors all look out for each other and help when we can. We attend Church every Sunday. We enjoy working with the youth in our Church. Jason works with the Young Men and Wendy works with the Young Women. We feel it is important for our family to have high standards and live by true principles. Attending church regularly helps us to build our faith and give our children the opportunity to build their own faith and values. The boys both attend Primary and love their friends there and learning more about the Gospel. We Love the outdoors and like to spend free time going for Rhino rides. We like to go exploring and recently went on a treasure hunt with Caleb and Jacob in the desert and only found a shiny marble, but dug a really big hole that the boys fit inside. Our real treasure was spending the afternoon together.
We have no doubt that Caleb and Jacob are a blessing and special gift to us. We are grateful each and every day for them. We would love to have another beautiful child in our home to love and learn from. Our hopes and prayers are with you in your search for the family that is right for you and your child.
