Dear Birthmother

We are Jason and Danielle and we are so excited to be starting our adoption journey with you. We can’t possibly imagine all of the emotions and challenges you are facing right now, and we would like you to know we admire your strength and most of all the LOVE you are displaying by choosing adoption. We will always be thankful to you for helping us complete our family and for the incredible joy you will be bringing us. Hopefully as you get to know us better something about us will stand out that will make you feel as though we are the right match for you and the life you envision for your child. We know our child is out there somewhere and we can’t wait to meet them!

The Two of Us…….for now!
We met 5 years ago while living in the same apartment building, Jason living in an apartment upstairs and Danielle living in the apartment beneath. To this day we have fun telling the story about how we met and people are sometimes shocked when we reply “I used to live on top of her” or “I used to live under him.” We dated for three years before we decided to get married. Never short on fun our wedding was no exception. While we were dating we attended a family members wedding in Jamaica and had an incredible time. We both decided that a destination wedding would be the most fun and would fit our personalities best. After researching and researching we ended up on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with a beautiful ceremony and reception with 20 of our closest family members and friends. Employment opportunities have taken us all over the country and we have finally found a place that feels like home. Although we are not geographically close to either one of our families or where either of us grew up we are fortunate enough to see them about once a month. We have known now for a while that we could not have children on our own and after several failed fertility treatments we are just as excited to grow our family through adoption. We do not feel our family will be complete until we can welcome a child into it. We have so much love between us it only seems right to share with a child.

Danielle….according to Jason
Danielle was born in California and grew up there. She has an amazing heart and would give the shirt off her back to anyone that asked. Point in fact we used to volunteer in a non conventional way and go out on the street in some of the less fortunate areas of California and cook for the homeless around Thanksgiving and she literally gave the shirt off her back to a young girl who she felt a connection to. Danielle has a love for children that is very strong and could rival even the most patient caring people I know. I think this has to do with the fact that she has always been around children and worked and lived in a family business surrounded by children. When she is passionate about something you can see the tenacity in her eyes and the determination in her pursuit. Once her mind is made up she is all in, no fear, no looking back. This is just one of the qualities I love about her.

Danielle has the best of both worlds when it comes to work. She works very hard and is a successful Corporate Financial Aid Officer who works from home on a very flexible schedule. This fact will allow us to have Danielle stay home with our child and work around a crazy schedule that I will be able to help with. She is so excited to become a stay at home mom.

Jason….according to Danielle
Jason was born and raised in the state of Washington. He is the best man I know! He loves with all of his heart and always makes sure you know it! He is so incredibly smart and even graduated Valedictorian of High School class. He was class President all four years and was involved in just about every activity possible in school from athletics to leadership and even volunteering. As you can see everyone loved him and they still do! That hard work continues still today as he is an extremely hard worker. He takes his job very serious and always makes sure he provides for our family and for our future. Not only does Jason work hard but he plays hard too. He loves golf which makes him fit in just perfect with my family. He also enjoys playing video games on his new XBOX 360 with Kinect that Santa brought him last year for Christmas. He loves going camping with our family and friends and we take an Annual Beach Camping trip every Fourth of July along the Coast in California. He is extremely handy and can build or fix just about anything. Two of his most favorite TV channels are HGTV and DIY. We always end up at Home Depot or Lowes after every episode we watch. One thing I love most about him is he is generous with his handy abilities, building a Pergola for our new neighbors and laying New Wood Floors in my mother’s home. She refers to him as the best son in law EVER since he is always fixing something for her. Jason loves to Snow Ski since he grew up in very cold winters in Washington only minutes away from some of the best ski parks around. He has been skiing since he was just a toddler and can’t wait to teach our son or daughter some of his tricks. Every chance we get to go back and visit his family, that’s always one of the first things we all do together, Hit the Slopes!

Something I love most about Jason is every time we are out running errands or having dinner, he is always pointing out every adorable little child we see(and there’s lots) giving them cute little nicknames like “little blue eyes” or “goldie locks” as we watch every little thing they do.

One of my most treasured memories of my husband happened just a couple weeks ago as I sat and watched him put our new Crib together along with the Dresser/Changing Table for the baby we pray to have one day. There is no doubt in my mind that Jason will be an amazing father and I am truly blessed to call him my husband.

Our Village (Family and Friends)
People always say it takes a village to raise a child, meet ours! Jason’s parents divorced when he was young so he was lucky enough to have two sets of loving parents. Both his mom and dad remarried which added to his already loving family. His dad John and stepmom Becky still live in the same house Jason grew up in. Jason has three stepsisters, Michaelia (28), Meghann (25), and Kali (24) two of which still live in his hometown and the other which lives in Orlando, Florida and works and Walt Disney World. (Family vacations here we come!)Jason also has one older brother Justin who is 18mths older. Justin is married to Karen and they have two awesome little ones, Camden (8) and Abigail Grace (3). They live in Georgia so unfortunately we don’t see them as often as we would like. Jason’s mom Deni and stepdad Vern also still live in his hometown. Jason’s mom is a wonderful seamstress and is known for making gorgeous baby blankets for her grandkids. Jason’s mom just retired from the police dept in Washington and his dad works as mechanic for the school system. Everyone can’t wait to welcome the newest edition to the family!!!! Especially his mom since she is retired now so that means more trips to see the grandkids. Although several miles separate them Jason is extremely close with his family and talks with them all at least once a week.

Danielle’s parents also divorced when she was young with only one of her parents re-marrying. Danielle’s mom Emily lives in California in the same house Danielle was raised in. She talks to her mom at least once a day and video chats at least once a week. Emily has had a Licensed In-Home Daycare for over 30 yrs and still does to this day. She can’t wait to have more grandkids and has been buying things for the baby for years! We continuously get surprise packages in the mail of items for her new grandchild. We love it! Danielle has an older sister Eliza who is married to TJ. They have a son Jaeden(2) a daughter Camrie(12) and another on the way(due Sept. 1st). Danielle and her sister are extremely close and talk several times a day and video chat a few times per week. Danielle is the godparent to Jaeden and spoils him rotten. Jaeden also loves his uncle Jason, every time Danielle video chats with Jaeden the first thing he asks is, “where Jason?” Eliza is a Deaf Education teacher in California and has taught Jaeden Sign Language since he was a new born. Eliza and her husband live on the same Golf Course in California that Danielle’s father does. Danielle’s dad Joe and stepmom Becky have a beautiful home on the lake of a golf course. Joe works in the Bay Area four days a week as a Plumber. This has been his profession for over 20 years. Becky is a homemaker and enjoys being “Nanas” to her grandkids. She is also a licensed Beautician and gives all the grandkids there haircuts. Danielle has two stepbrothers Steven(33) who is in the military based in Texas, Victor(30) who lives in the Bay Area and one step sister Jennifer(26) who also lives in the Bay Area with our niece Angelina(5). Angelina was proud to tell us just a few days ago she graduated from Kindergarten and her mom got her the best cake ever! Everyone in our family has been asking us for a while when are we having kids. They are very excited to know it’s now!

Not only do we have a large immediate family but we have an even larger extended family. Our family gets together almost every weekend for some sort of event, whether it’s a birthday, a graduation, a baby shower or just a weekend BBQ. People are always amazed how a last minute weekend BBQ with our family ends up with 40+ people, tons of food, and even more kids. Our extended family is extremely close. It’s not surprising to have a grandparent or even great grandparent sitting next to an aunt, uncle, and cousins at a weekday tee ball game. Everyone is extremely supportive of each other, and we are present in each other’s lives. We are fortunate to have such a loving, generous, supportive family. We laugh together, we cry together, we celebrate together and we mourn together. Our friends always say how lucky we are to be surrounded by such an amazing support system.

Speaking of friends we have lots of those too, however, we consider them more as family. Just like our family, we share many special relationships with our friends. Most of our friends have children so we are always offering to babysit, and the offer is happily accepted. Babysitting is always special for us as we enjoy the time we get to share in the children’s lives. We both have friends we grew up with that we talk too often and maintain close relationships with still today. As our lives have developed so have new relationships with people we have met along the way. Our newer friends are just as dear to us as our childhood friends and we know we have built relationships that will last a lifetime. Whether it’s camping together, vacationing together, or simply hanging out, we cherish the time we spend together with our friends and always find a way to have fun.

• We love listening to live music on the lake
• We love to travel to places near and far

Our Home
We are fortunate to live in one of the best cities in the United States. We are known as the Live Music Capital of the World where there is always entertainment and cultural events. We have gorgeous trees and parks all over the city. People in our city are extremely active and everyone enjoys all the outdoor activities Austin has to offer. The area is very family friendly and no matter where you go you will always find kids. We live in a community that has tons of young families with children, and we get together with our neighbors often for BBQ’s and swimming. We recently purchased our second home which is 4 bedrooms plus an office (future playroom). We love the open floor plan and picked the layout specifically with our child in mind, wanting to ensure that our baby would be in the room right next to us. Our backyard is fenced and full of grass and has room for kids to play. Our backyard is currently home to our Teacup Pomeranians each of which weighs in at a whopping 5lbs. They really spend more time inside being spoiled. We call them our kids. Our subdivision also has a landscaped playground with walking trail and picnic areas for families in the neighborhood to enjoy.

In Closing
There is no doubt in our minds that we are financially and emotionally ready for the challenges that lie ahead as no one we have met has ever said parenthood is easy. We are ready for the sleepless nights, the unexpected emergency room visits, and the bumps and bruises that come along the way. We can’t promise to be perfect or that we have all the answers but we will promise that your child will be loved and cared for with all of our hearts and souls. We will teach them right from wrong and how to make the good decisions. We will support them in every way possible whether it means cheering on the side lines of a game or videotaping a recital. We will ensure that your child understands the importance of education and promise to provide several opportunities to learn not only from daily activities and life lessons, but from higher education. Hopefully we have conveyed enough about ourselves to make that special connection as you have gotten to know us a little better.
