Christine and Greg
Our names are Christine and Greg and we would like to thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We hope, through pictures and words, that we will be able to give you a good feeling of who we are as a couple, introduce you to our family and friends, and hopefully show you the loving and caring home we would provide for your baby. We can’t possibly know what you must be going through, but can imagine that this must be the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make. We admire your courage and strength. We are excited that you are taking the time to read our letter and learn about us and are certain that we would provide your baby an environment filled with much love and laughter.
How we met, and why we chose adoption
We met at work of all places! Greg had just started in the company and was having issues with his paycheck. Greg’s manager sent him to Christine to see if she could help, and the rest is history! We are very lucky and fortunate to have met each other, and knew we had something special from that very first encounter. Seven months after dating, Greg proposed to Christine (she said YES!) and we were married shortly afterward. It was a beautiful, but small wedding on the water surrounded by close family and friends. After many failed attempts at having a child by birth, we decided to end our infertility journey and grow our family through adoption. We always knew it didn’t matter to us how we’d grow our family just that we would.

Our home
We absolutely love where we live! Wanting to raise children in the suburbs, we sold our condo in Boston a few years ago and moved to a small town outside of the city. Our town and especially our neighborhood are very special to us. We live in a 3 bedroom house that sits on a 1 acre lot with lots of trees that backs into conservation land with tons of walking trails. Our house is on a cul-de-sac road with lots of friendly families with children of all ages, and pets. When we moved into the neighborhood, we were greeted with plates full of homemade cookies and brownies from the neighbors! Just a ½ mile walk from our house is a lake that has a town beach, soccer fields, and a fenced in play area for the younger children. Our town also is well known for its’ numerous apple orchards, small family owned farms, and acres of conservation land. The town is very family oriented holding numerous town fairs and other fun events for all ages throughout the year. We chose to move to this town for a few reasons, but most importantly because of the wonderful school system. We also love our town because of its country feeling, yet it is just minutes from all the advantages that city life offers.
Our Childhood and Families
Christine is extremely close to her family and talks to them daily. Her brother Michael and his wife Jen, live just an hour away in New Hampshire and are proud parents to Alec (7) and Ella (5). Christine’s dad, Bob lives on a lake, and her mom, Karen lives by the ocean in New Hampshire – lots of water sports! We celebrate all holidays together and visit frequently throughout the year. Growing up, Christine’s family was very happy, outgoing, and hard working. She was born in Florida, and moved to a small town in New Hampshire in an old farmhouse that sat on 24 acres of land. Christine and her brother were constantly outdoors playing and inventing games and other things to keep busy. Although they played a lot in their youth, they also had a great work ethic instilled in them. Christine’s dad was airline pilot and was travelling a few days a week and away from home, so Christine and her brother would help their mom around the house with chores, and tending to their large garden. They even had their own rototilling business, as well as sold vegetables in a farm stand from the garden. Christine’s family always spent time together, be it going to the movies, bowling, skiing, sledding, going to the beach or just hanging out watching Disney movies and eating a big bowl of popcorn. Christine’s parents were also very active in the community as her dad was the town moderator and mom volunteered as a teacher’s aide at the school. Christine participated in girl scouts and 4-H (4-H is a positive youth development organization that empowers young people to reach their full potential. It was very similar to girl scout activities and camp, but involved both girls and boys.), took dance classes, and played softball, basketball and volleyball, played clarinet in school as well as excelled in art classes.
Greg is also close with his family, although distance keeps them from seeing each other on a regular basis. His mom, Judy lives close and they talk daily with her, as well as visit her once a week. Greg’s brother, Zeke lives in Virginia with his wife Milena. Greg’s dad, Richard, lives in Pennsylvania and we talk to him several times a month. Both of Greg’s parents were educators and instilled the importance of schooling into him. Greg has very fond memories growing up, and describes his childhood as happy, athletic, and adventurous. He was friendly, loved playing games and outdoor activities. He’s still really close with many of his childhood friends and loves seeing them and their families throughout the year. Growing up in a single parent home, he became very independent. He did much of the cooking, laundry, and other chores to help his mom out around the house. He was a paper boy, and had a lawn mowing business at a young age. He played sports (soccer, t-ball, and little league) throughout his youth, and later excelled in soccer and lacrosse in high school and eventually played those sports in college. Greg considers himself lucky to have had the chance to do a significant amount of travelling in his young adult years, and is something we plan on encouraging our children to explore those same opportunities.

Greg, about Christine
When I first met Christine I knew there was something special about her. It was so easy talking to her that we instantly became best friends. When we were dating, it was amazing that I got to see her every day at work! Her smile, positive energy, and beauty were and still are things that I look forward to every day. The more I got to know Christine the more I fell in love with her. There’s a saying that the “honeymoon will soon be over”, but not for us as I still feel my love for her grows stronger and stronger each day. I love how excited she gets when we visit our niece and nephew. She always plans something special to do with them, be it a craft project or a game of tag! They lovingly call her “Auntie Teen” – somehow I think they’ll be calling her that even when Christine gets older. Another special quality Christine has that I love and admire is that she always thinks of everyone and finds a way to make everyone feel special when she plans outings. Things that most people think would be too much trouble, or not worth the hassle, Christine realizes how import those things are, and just does them. She really makes a difference in people’s lives and will make an unbelievable mother. I think I can sum up Christine as being an extremely caring, loving and fun person, and I am extremely lucky and fortunate to have her in my life.
Christine, about Greg
When I first saw Greg, my first impression was that he had such a kind face, getting to know him more not only is he one of the kindest people I know, but he is also intelligent, laid back, gentle, fun loving man with a zest for life. Children are drawn to him. Our niece and nephew are always all over him as soon as he steps in the door at their house, and is often found running around the house with them. They spend hours doing this. He’s going to make a great father some day! He’s always up for an adventure and trying something new. One of the things that most intrigued me about Greg was he had traveled in South America for 4 years. He went there not knowing a word of Spanish, and lived with a host family for a semester of school. He quickly became fluent in Spanish. He then backpacked all over South America with one of his close friends. Greg is also an amazing cook! He worked for a caterer when he got back to the states and picked up quite a few tricks! He can throw most anything together and make it taste fantastic! I couldn’t imagine my life without him and know he’s my true soul mate.

Holidays, Celebrations and passion of food
To us, holidays are all about family, friends and most importantly the children. We always decorate our house, inside and out, especially during Christmas and Halloween.
Just to give you an idea of some of the things we do to celebrate: Christmas mornings are always spent together opening presents, and having a homemade coffee cake while opening up stockings. We eat a home cooked meal with all the fixings, and then after we are stuffed we all go for a walk to make room for dessert! We also make sure there are always craft projects to do, or put together a puzzle or play games outside! For birthdays, the birthday person always gets to pick what they want made for their favorite meal. It can be anything! From waffles with ice cream to a 5 course meal! It’s all about you! Every year we have a pre-Thanksgiving with Greg’s childhood friends and their families. It’s a tradition that’s gone on now for 8 years. It rotates from house to house each year, and is a day of hanging out, children and grownups playing and lots of laughs!
We are very adventurous in cooking and love a wide variety of ethnic foods. We routinely prepare Thai, Indian, Chinese, Mexican and traditional American dishes. We’ve also been known to buy something at the market we have never seen before, and Google it to see how to prepare it (like dragon fruit). We take advantage of the local farmers markets and use all the fresh produce they have to offer. We also have an apple orchard a ½ mile from our house that we visit weekly to pick up fresh apples…okay…and the apple cider donuts too! Soooooo good!
What we like to do
Since moving to our house we have learned a lot about home improvement. Google is our friend. We spend a lot of our free time fixing up things around the house, and our next project is going to be building a playhouse/swing set/shed that we found in a Handyman magazine! Greg likes to play golf, while Christine plays in volleyball tournaments in the area. Christine also loves scrapbooking and crafts of any kind. We love hiking, bike riding, swimming, spending time with family and friends. We just started cross-country skiing this past winter and can’t wait for next snow season to get out on the trails again! We also look forward to trying out our new kayaks on the river and lake that are close to our house, as well as biking along the bike paths that cross through our town.
Our Work
We love our jobs, and are very fortunate that our company and bosses are very flexible and family oriented. Christine is the executive assistant to the General Manager, and Greg manages an information technology group. We both have the ability to work from home, and Christine’s boss has already suggested that she consider working from home and work part time when we adopt a baby. Our schedules are very flexible, allowing one of us to always be home with the baby. Christine plans on taking an extended period of time off from work to be home with the baby, while Greg will work from home during that time.
Greg has had some amazing opportunities at work, and has recently been promoted to a manager due to his hard work, ethics, as well as having just earned his Masters Degree in Business Administration. He went to school for 3 ½ years part time, while working full time and we are very proud of his achievement!

In closing
We really hope you’ve enjoyed looking at our letter and hope you have a good feel of who we are. Please know that if you choose us to be parents for your child, we will provide your baby with a loving, happy and warm family. We will encourage them to follow their dreams, reach for the stars and remind them that anything is possible. Your child also has the right to know and hear about their adoption story, and we plan on sharing with them whatever you share with us on how they came to join our family. You will always have a place in our hearts. Thanks again for considering us.
