Choose A Family : Parent Profile
Elizabeth and Michael
Hi! We’re Beth and Michael. Thank you for reading our letter and considering us as your child’s adoptive parents. When we found out that we can’t have biological children adoption was a natural choice for us. Our goal is to be parents. We have always wanted to have children and feel that we are prepared to be good parents. We hope that you’ll find we have a lot to offer your child.
About Us
We met in 1997, got married in 2001 and have been together ever since. We are hard-working, gentle people who look forward to spending lots and lots of time with our children. We are ready to offer your child tons of unconditional love as well as provide a safe, stable, supportive, stimulating and fun home for him or her to grow up in.
We live in a quiet community filled with tons of children. Beth is a full-time mom to our son, Clark, who we adopted in 2008. We are lucky that Michael provides enough financial security to make this possible. Clark is an active three-year-old who will make a great big brother.
Beth’s retired parents live just around the corner. Her brother Jim and his family live just across our small town. We believe in doing things together as a family and share plenty of fun activities and hobbies. We are also active in our church and part of a local Mom’s Club. We love animals and have a sweet little dog, Sofie.

Our Home
We have a three-bedroom house with a big, fenced back yard, a huge garden, and a gigantic play set. We love to grow vegetables and flowers in our garden and always enjoy eating the things we grow. We spend lots of evenings on our covered back porch, eating dinner, playing with Clark, enjoying the sunset and just talking.
Our small town is filled with great parks that include swing sets, splash parks, tennis courts and soccer fields. There are lots of local clubs for kids of all ages. Beth and Clark belong to a Mom’s Club and they do neat things together with the group several times a week. Beth’s parents live in the neighborhood. We have a school bus stop out front where the neighborhood kids catch the bus for the short ride to school.
Day by Day
We’re sure you’re wondering what your child’s day-to-day life will be like with us. Michael gets his day started early, usually with a good work out. He often works from home and usually spends his evenings at home or with friends and family. He often grills dinner for us.
To start the day Beth and Clark might work around the house, play outside, take the dog for a walk or do some other fun activity. In the summer they often go swimming, to one of the local parks or to the zoo. When the weather is cooler they often play at a friend’s house, go out to lunch with their playgroup or enjoy a museum.
In the evenings we all spend time together around the house or do some fun activity like play a game of tennis, take a walk or work in the garden. After dinner we usually enjoy the back yard. Every Friday night we have a family night out where we pick a different restaurant to enjoy.

Weekend & Vacation Fun
We have an RV, so many weekends we go to interesting places. We like camping because it gives us the chance to explore new places and enjoy the outdoors. Sometimes we go with a group of friends and enjoy hiking, fishing, grilling and canoeing. Other times we go as a family and enjoy touring historic sites and learning about life in different parts of the world.
We also like to take bigger trips. We have been to visit Michael’s family in Italy several times. We love to travel to places like Disney World, London and the Caribbean and to visit our friends and family throughout the country.

Our Interests
We are very family oriented. Most of our free time is spent with family and almost all of our vacations involve visiting family. Beth’s parents and brother live close by and we see them regularly. We also have a close-knit group of friends who are like an extended family.
Michael comes from a family who worked in construction. He worked his way through college in a series of jobs that lead to greater and greater success. He looks forward to helping our children learn at an early age the skills that make life easier.
Before becoming a full-time mom Beth taught literature and writing. She can’t wait to teach our children to read. Our home is already filled with books. She also enjoys sewing and quilting for our family and friends as well as taking pictures.
We are interested in all sorts of different things from history to science to literature. Beth’s father was an actual ‘rocket scientist’ before retirement and he manages to make math fun. We enjoy visiting museums and learning new things. We will encourage our children to learn as much as possible and explore all their interests.
Growing up Michael played baseball and took judo and boxing. Now he enjoys building things and exploring new ideas. He used to serve in the Army. Beth grew up taking dance lessons, riding horses and playing the clarinet. Now she enjoys reading, crafts and spending time with family and friends. We both enjoy having a home full of love and laughter.
We both had parents who encouraged and supported us as we grew. We hope to encourage our children to explore different activities and find out what is right for them. We hope to see them grow both as part of our family and as individuals in the world.

Clark
We adopted Clark in 2008 and he is an active, fun little boy. He enjoys playing outside, swimming, helping us around the house and playing with his friends. He is looking forward to being a big brother and often helps care for his younger cousins. He is looking forward to having a built-in playmate in a sibling!
