Danielle and Dennis
Dear Birth Mother,
We are Dee and Danielle. Since we’ve been married, our life has been full of wonderful moments together and so much love. For the last nine years we have hoped to share this wonderful life with a child and to enjoy the excitement of life through the eyes of a little one. For you to offer this chance to us is a true blessing. The emotions you are probably experiencing and the decision you are making must be the toughest in your life. We hope that you will find in us a loving home, a place where your child can grow and become them self, a secure and happy life and parents who will be honest about how your child came into our life. Thank you for reading our letter.
How we met:
We met in 2000 while working together. Dee knew there was something special about Danielle the minute he met her and would often ask her to hang out after work. Danielle said yes every time but she would get so nervous that she would end up inviting several friends (co-workers) to come along. It was during one of our after work get-togethers that we were finally able to spend some time alone and really get to know each other. We were at a coffee shop and talked for hours about anything and everything including a story Dee told Danielle about how his parents eloped after five days of knowing each other. Dee asked Danielle if she wanted to beat their record by eloping with him since they’d only know each other three days! After seeing the look on Danielle’s face and shocked silence Dee said that of course he was just joking. Talking and spending time together was so easy and natural that we did not want it to end and so we planned to have dinner the following night. We found we shared many hobbies and interests. As our relationship progressed, we focused on creating new memories by taking trips together to a new town or city, going on hikes, or going to dinner and a movie. Dee opened Danielle’s eyes and taste buds to many different cuisines. It was after many movies nights of sharing a tub of ice cream and pack of red vines that Dee asked Danielle to marry him. Danielle was speechless, although quickly recovered and said yes. Since that first date, we’ve been almost inseparable. A day hasn’t gone by where we’ve told each other how much we mean to one another. Each day we grow in our love for each other and both agree that we are each other best friends. We are so blessed to have this incredible relationship!

Our Life
After getting married, we moved into our first home, a two bedroom condo. Danielle finished school and worked while Dee worked as a paramedic. Two years later we bought a brand new home in a beautiful community. We were lucky enough to be directly involved with building our home and got to choose the carpet, tile and kitchen cabinets. It was a very exciting time for us! We continued to do the things we love, Danielle with her scrapbooking and Dee with wood working and running. We both spent many weekends camping and just two years after moving into our home bought a beautiful pop up tent trailer. One of our favorite places to camp is on a crystal clear lake with tons of hiking trails. We take the kayak up and cruise around the lake or cast a fishing line out from one of the small islands. Danielle’s favorite part camping is sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows. When our nephews were three and four, we started taking them camping with us. It has become an annual event and the youngest of the three just had his first year and loved it!
We’ve traveled to many places over the past years, visiting family in several states, enjoying the warm beaches of Hawaii and traveling through our own state. We have a sweet little parrot, Charlie, that we’ve been training to talk. He knows his name and can say a few things but not on command just yet. He’s a unique parrot in that he will go to anyone. We’ve had him since he was four months old so he’s accustomed to being held by different people. Because of this, we’re very popular with the neighborhood children. At least three times a week, kids will come by to see Charlie and to ask if they may hold him.
About our family
We have a large family and are blessed to live very close to one another. Danielle’s three siblings live within ten miles of our home and we have enjoyed watching our three nephews and our niece grow. Because Danielle’s dad lives ten minutes away, there have been many days spent by the pool or evenings eating in the backyard and playing at the park with the kids. Danielle’s mother lives only 30 minutes away and Danielle and she talk every day. Girl nights are planned frequently so Danielle, her sister and mom can get together. Movies and scrapbooking are usually the top priorities for the night. Dee’s brother and family live in Arizona and his father in Texas. We like to get together with them as much as possible. When the three guys get together they make all of us laugh even though it’s usually some inside joke from when they were growing up. We have more extended family in Colorado and Wisconsin and have been lucky enough to visit many times.

About Dee (in Danielle’s eyes)
Dee is the kindest, sweetest and most caring person I know. He’s also funny and silly. He’ll leave a note on the kitchen counter or a voice message on my phone that makes me smile and sometimes laugh. He’ll bring home a small bouquet of flowers just because and he’s the only person I can talk about anything with and truly be myself. Dee has a curious nature and because of this, learns about things so easily. I know if I ever have a question about what kind of bird lives in the Sierra Nevada’s or how to install a water heater, he’ll know. As our child grows and has a million questions about the world we live in, Dee will be there to answer them. He takes into consideration people’s feelings even if it means passing up something he wants to do or a place he wants to go so that he can make me happy. We’ve traveled a lot but some of my favorite moments with Dee are the nights we do dinner and a movie at home. We’ve been very lucky to have eleven years together and have made some incredible memories. Because of this time we’ve learned what is important to each other and have an appreciation for each other’s feelings. I know he will be a wonderful father just as he’s been a wonderful husband and friend.

About Danielle (in Dee’s eyes)
Danielle is the most giving person I've ever met, whether it is with me, family, or neighbors, she always likes helping others and giving them the emotional support they need. She is very affectionate and is not embarrassed to show it. Danielle is also task oriented and likes to plan the many events we do such as vacations, family gatherings and daily chores. I often tell her she could be a party planner because she pays so much attention to all the little details and always seems to enjoy planning the event. She is also very creative and loves to make scrapbooks and video slide shows of our vacations, birthdays and holidays. Another aspect of Danielle's personality that I love is her sensitivity. She is so touched by life's simple pleasures that she frequently sheds tears because she is overwhelmed with happiness. She is truly a person I adore and would not want to change anything about her.
Our home
We live in a gated community with parks, lakes and several walking trails. Our home is at the end of long street that typically is filled with young kids playing or riding bikes. We’ve been told numerous times that our home is cozy and inviting by those who have visited. The best part of our home is the large living room that is open to the kitchen. This is the setting for all events and we’ve hosted many family dinners, holidays and birthdays. Just recently, we’ve added a second patio in the backyard for star gazing with Dee’s telescope. Danielle’s favorite spot is out front on the covered porch. We have a chair swing covered with pillows that’s perfect for reading in the evening or napping on a warm afternoon. We have great neighbors that look out for each other while on vacation or if we need to borrower a cup of sugar. Our home is our comfort and our pride and we are so excited to share it with a little one!
