Chad and Lorraine
Dear Birth mother,
Aloha! We’re Lorraine and Chad! Thank you for taking the time to read our story and learn about us. We know that you are considering a difficult decision, and we respect and appreciate the courage you have to find a wonderful home for your baby. We know firsthand from our family and friends who have adopted that adoption is a beautiful way to create a family. We have been ready to be parents for many years and we are excited to become parents through adoption. We look forward to getting to know you and welcoming you into our lives.
About Us
We met in yearbook class when we were seniors in high school. There was an instant connection and we knew that we were meant to be together. We got married in Laguna Beach and lived in Oahu, Hawaii for a few years to be with Chad’s family. We have been married for 12 years and are best friends. We believe our strong marriage is a result of love, honesty, open communication and respect for each other.
We have created a warm and loving home and have always envisioned children in our lives. We are ready for skinned knees, little league sports games, trips to Disneyland, and building sand castles on the beach. We will love our child unconditionally and look forward to raising him/her to be the best that he/she can be.
About Lorraine
Lorraine is outgoing, dependable, and loving. She is a wonderful friend and is always there to listen and help. Lorraine was born in England and grew up in California. She enjoys the outdoors, watching movies, and being a mom to our dogs Kona and Bailey. She loves to cook her mother’s family recipes and experiment with new ones.
Lorraine is the youngest child from a family of seven and is close with her brothers and sisters, as well as their children. She has babysat all of her nieces and nephews since they were babies. “Aunt Lorraine” is like one of the “girls” to her four young nieces and regularly has sleepovers for them. They enjoy watching movies, swimming, baking cookies, shopping, and having girl time! Many times the Wii comes out and they all sign and dance to their favorite artists. Her youngest nephew Joaquin is five years old and is adopted. Joaquin and “Aunt Lorraine” love to play with cars and dinosaurs together, and laugh at his favorite movie Kung Fu Panda.
Lorraine has so much to offer as a parent and has so much love to give our child. She looks forward to devoting herself to a little one. She can’t wait to be involved with our child at school, watch “kid” movies, and be the “team mom” at sports activities. She takes many photographs throughout the year of family, friends, and events and makes beautiful scrapbooks of each year. She can’t wait to scrapbook photos of our child to add to the wonderful collection.
About Chad
Chad is kind, funny, and easy going. He was born and raised in California. He played high school football and baseball and was drafted by the Kansas City Royals. He is a true sports fanatic! He is the oldest of 4 children and is close to his brother and sisters and extended families. He is a loyal friend and caring big brother. He loves Mexican and Italian food, and is a great grill master.
Chad is great with children. He is teaching our nephew Joaquin to swim. They enjoy playing games together in the pool. Our friend’s little boys call Chad “Uncle Buck” because he has them ride on his shoulders and on his back like a horse. Chad can’t wait to do this with our child and be an active dad. He looks forward to teaching our child how to swim, ride a bike, and play sports.
About Kona and Bailey
Kona and Bailey are our two Labrador puppies. They are one year old and quite spoiled. They are sweet, happy dogs who enjoy playing fetch and an occasional swim in the pool. They love children and are very kind and gentle around them. We can’t wait for them to meet our child.
Our Home and Community
We live approximately 40 minutes from Downtown Los Angeles and about 20 minutes from Disneyland. Our neighborhood is filled with friendly families with young children. We live across the street from an elementary school (which our child will attend), a sports field, a dog and children’s park, and a hiking trail. The school system is one of the best in the area.
Our home is on a hill with beautiful views of the local mountains. It is cozy and warm with a large backyard and a pool. We grow many of our own vegetables in our garden and enjoy our lemon tree. Our home is the gathering place for many family holidays, barbeques, and sporting events. We love to entertain and have family and friends over in a relaxing, inviting setting. We enjoy spending quality time together swimming, hiking, grilling burgers, watching the big game, or playing the Wii.
Our Interests & Activities
We love hiking, going to the beach, and improving our golf game. We enjoy watching all sports and are huge fans of our local teams, the Los Angeles Angels and Lakers. We are attempting to go to different football and baseball stadiums throughout the country and so far have gone to 8 baseball stadiums and 4 football stadiums. We love to travel, both short getaways in California or faraway places and have been to Europe, Hawaii, Boston, NYC, and Denver. We love to learn about history and each city’s culture and sample the delicious local food. We return to Hawaii to visit friends every few years and can’t wait to share the Aloha spirit with our child.
Our Careers
We both work in the Real Estate industry. Lorraine has been a Property Manager for 17 years. In her current position, she manages office and industrial buildings. Chad has been a Property Manager for 10 years and works from home. His flexible schedule will allow him to spend more time with a new baby.
Our Family & Friends
We are very close to our families, who have been incredibly supportive of our decision to adopt. Both sets of grandparents are thrilled about having a new addition to the family. They all live close by and look forward to spoiling and pampering a new grandchild. Our brothers and sisters also live nearby and are ready and willing to help out with a new baby. Our 4 nieces and 3 nephews are very excited to welcome a brand new cousin! One more niece or nephew is on the way as Lorraine’s brother and his partner are in the process of adopting again. Yet another addition to the family! We really look forward to our children growing up together and becoming very close cousins.
Many of our closest friends have babies or small children. Some have also adopted. We think it would be really wonderful to watch our children grow up together, attend each other’s birthday parties, have picnics in the park, or play on the same sports team.

Both of us have wanted to be parents for as long as we can remember. We love our many nieces, nephews, and little cousins and we’d like to share that joy with a little one of our own.
