Choose A Family : Parent Profile
Brandi
Dear Birthmother,
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my family. I look forward to starting my family through adoption. May God bless you and help you make a decision that is right for you and your child.

My Story
I was born and raised in Ohio. Growing up I felt lucky to live so close to my large Italian family. I had a ready supply of cousins to play with and get in trouble with! I attended The University of Akron and received a Bachelor of Arts specializing in Social Work. I then moved to Texas to attend The University of Texas at Arlington and received my Master’s in Social Work. I was lonely in Texas without my family and decided to move back to Ohio.
I have a great job that allows me to have a flexible schedule. I work with foster parents and foster children. The children I work with have a variety of challenges such as educational problems, developmental delays and mental health issues. I find this job extremely rewarding and a source of pride.
Where I live I am surrounded by my family, which makes life fun, comforting and never dull! They are all so excited for me to begin my adoption journey. I have a close friend who has adopted and shares her knowledge and experience with me to help me understand the process. I feel very strongly that getting an education is extremely important and will ensure that your child loves to learn! I think I have a great sense of humor; I love to laugh! Above all else, I love to play and I don’t mind getting dirty in a sandbox!
I enjoy taking my dog, Gage, for walks or playing fetch. I like to travel and have been to Italy, Germany, France and Switzerland to name a few. I love to take my Harley on rides, especially with my parents, complete with a stop at an ice cream stand; make mine chocolate marshmallow! I try to read and scrapbook when I have down time. I am an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and love watching or going to games.

My family
I grew up in a big Italian family. If you know the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding just replace Greek with Italian and there is a snapshot of my family! They are loud, boisterous, and full of love. My parents have been married for 37 years. My mom, Susie, is a financial specialist at a local hospital. My dad, Bernie, is a truck driver. I have one younger brother, Tony, who is a police officer.
I have numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, cousin-in-laws and second cousins. We try to get together often, which is easy since we all live within an hour of each other, with the exception of one cousin. It is a tradition to spend Christmas Eve at my cousin’s house. The family enjoys getting together to celebrate children’s birthdays.
My favorite childhood memories involve spending time at my grandparents’ home. My cousins, brother and I would end up at their home every weekend. Grandma loved to cook for her grandbabies! Grandma knew everyone’s favorite dishes and made sure she cooked them often. She would make lasagna, spaghetti and homemade meatballs. On special holidays the meal consisted of everyone’s favorite dishes. Grandma also would make homemade spaghetti sauce. She did not believe in sauce from a jar or can! She won second place for her spaghetti sauce in our local Italian American Festival years ago. Grandpa would spend his time trying to keep us out of trouble. I hope to pass on just as special childhood memories to your child. My entire family is excited about another addition to the family.
My parents taught my brother and I to be honest, respectful, values, responsibility, how to love and what is important in a family. I can not wait to pass these same traits onto your child!

Gage
Gage is my 3 year old Labrador Retriever. He loves to play with his Frisbee. We enjoy going for walks and stopping to talk with family along the way! Gage and my brother’s dog, Porter, likes to play with each other as often as possible.

Home
I live in a rural area and it takes approximately 15 minutes to get to town. I love living in the country. I can look out the window and see deer, squirrels, birds, turkeys and hummingbirds. There is a large yard to play in and my extended family members live close by.
